President Barack Obama will be the latest in a long line of Commanders-in-Chief to travel in Cadillac style, dating back to Woodrow Wilson’s ride through Boston in one 90 years ago. The latest presidential limo promises to be the most high-tech yet (although that tech is confidential), and will serve as the official Obamamobile beginning with his inaugural parade on January 20.
Details are of course scarce, as they’re a matter of national security. We’re assured that lots of test hours went into the development of Obama’s new ride, and that those involved in its design and construction have been sworn to secrecy. So don’t ask, because they’re not telling.
