Virginia police found troubled former NASCAR driver Kevin Grubb dead in a motel room Wednesday. The cause of death is apparently a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Grubb was indefinitely suspended from NASCAR racing in 2006 after refusing to submit to a mandatory drug test after he was previously suspended in 2004 for failing such a test. Police found no signs of narcotics in the motel room or on Grubb's person, but toxicology reports could take up to six weeks. Grubb raced in NASCAR's truck series and Busch series starting in 1996, achieving 10 top-five finishes. [via USA Today]
