NuVinci's Parent Company Fallbrook Technologies is Closing in on Its First Automotive Application
Back in September 2006 I test drove a cool new CVT that was about to go into production on a bicycle The NuVinci Code--Finally a tranny with some balls. This unique design, dreamed up in the 15th century by Leonardo himself (hence the name), involves two dish-like discs clamping down on a set of balls whose axis of rotation can be varied relative to the two discs to change the ratio between input and output speeds.
