Mercedes-Benz is now ready to launch the new 2009 S-Class, which has been described as the "CO2 champion in the luxury class" market.
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has proved a sought-after ally for many motorists in recent years, primarily through the W 221-series S-Class selling 270,000 units since hitting the market in 2005.
Dr Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of Daimler AG and Chief Executive of Mercedes-Benz Cars, said: "The S-Class is the worldwide market leader.
"Thanks to innovative technology, first-class comfort and trailblazing safety systems, the flagship model from Mercedes-Benz is seen as a pioneer in automotive development."
However, the new range is bolstered by the Mercedes-Benz S400 HYBRID, which is the world’s first series-production hybrid drive system with a lithium-ion battery.
This development helps the car to be the lowest generator of carbon dioxide in its class at 186g/km.
Meanwhile, motorists will also not be losing out in terms of the style of their car, as the new S-Class has an even more dynamic design, while offering more comfort than ever before.
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class was crowned as the Best Luxury Car at the What Car? Awards 2009.
