Electric car company Tesla Motors has had its fair share of successes on its route to its position at the leading edge of the new automotive industry, but last week it suffered a setback that threatened to kill its forward momentum. The planned construction of a new manufacturing facility and headquarters in San Jose, California, was delayed indefinitely due to a lack of venture capital funding, but now progress is being made on a new 'brownfield' facility at another location. "We cannot do anything that may jeopardize securing the federal loan," said Tesla senior communications manager Rachel Konrad, according to the AFP.
